Buying Website Traffic

Buying Website Traffic

“Buying Website Traffic,” it isn’t at all bad as it sounds. There are two ways

this can be done, and guilt-free. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and SEM (Search

Engine Marketing), these are considered two of the most important internet

marketing methods available. Both can cost a sizeable amount of money but can

effectively increase your website traffic.

Search Engine Optimization makes your website more search friendly on Google or

Yahoo. For example, if you run an online Pet Toy Store and someone searches for

“pet toys”, they’re likely to turn up tens-of-thousands of websites. If you want

your website to be in the top search results, you need to have keywords at the top

of your website such as “Pet Toys” or “Dog Bones.” Also, if your header is an

image, although it may read “Pet Toys,” Google cannot read it and your site is

likely to rank low in the search results. You have to use plain text and good

keywords for Google to place it higher in the search results.

Another effective method of SEO is having good “meta-tags” in your code. This is a

list of keywords and a description of your website that isn’t visible from your

webpage but visible to search engines. If you have keywords such as “dogs toys,

bones, catnip,” this will improve your ranking in search engines. Ideally you want

your website to be in one of the first 3 pages of results, not 75 pages deep.

Now, looking at Search Engine Marketing, this is highly more effective than SEO

because you’re paying for your website to be at the highest ranking in search

results. For example, if you purchase an SEM deal with Yahoo.com and someone

searches for “Pet Store,” your site can actually show up as one of the top 3 or as

a highlighted website at the top of the page. As you can imagine, this costs a lot

of money, but you’re guaranteed to be one of the first websites in the search

results.

In conclusion, although “Buying Website Traffic” has a negative tone, it’s highly

effective and it only helps consumers find what they’re looking for. If someone is

searching for Pet Toys and your site is the first on the list, they don’t care if

you paid for the placement or not, they’re probably more worried about finding

that perfect dog bone on your website.
